We’re super-excited that we are finalists in the Dorset Tourism Awards 2020/21! In spite of the challenging conditions of the last year, we’re really pleased to have been able to make peoples’ staycation and campervan dreams a reality. And to be recognised by the Dorset Tourism Awards on top of it all makes us incredibly proud.
It’s a bit tricky to categorise campervan hire – although it could be seen as glamping, we’re not a static glamping site in one place, so don’t fit in with the glamping business award – but we do provide an awesome campervanning “experience” so here we are: finalists in the Experience of the Year (Active or Learning) category as well as the New Tourism Business Award. We’ve got some tough competition, we are up against fantastic Dorset businesses in both categories. We’ll find out how we’ve done at a virtual Awards Day zoom event on the 4th February. We’re looking forward to getting our posh togs out for a change!
Getting this far and being finalists has been a fantastic experience. It was lovely to “meet” our fellow finalists (as well as organisers and sponsors) this week online, hear others opinions and experiences of lockdowns and how the year has been for them. Everyone has been so friendly and shown such enthusiasm for what they do, it makes us proud to walk amongst them and really appreciate this awesome county we live and work in.

Update 04/02/21 – AKA Awards Day!
We’ve had a blast today watching the very best of Dorset tourism being celebrated! We’re very proud of our two Silver awards for Experience of the Year (Active or Learning) and New Tourism Business Award, really great recognition for us – it’s only two years since we started from scratch with just one campervan! The winners in our two categories were The Cross Keys pub in Sherborne and Jurassic Coast Guides who does fossil tours and coastal walks – awesome Dorset businesses whom we hope to be able to visit later this year. Big congrats to all of the finalists – it’s been lovely to see so many friendly faces. Thanks so much to our amazing family and friends and all of our lovely customers, we couldn’t have got this far without you. Right, where’s that champagne??
Update 22/04/21
Amazing news: having won our Dorset Tourism Awards we were then put through to the regional South West Tourism Excellence Awards where we were humbled to win silver in the Experience of the Year category – out of all the businesses from across Devon, Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire! What an extraordinary year! If you hire a campervan from us then head to Charmouth to see Jurassic Coast Guides (who won the gold in our category), you’ll have the best two active/learning experiences across the whole of the south west!
